Consumer Unit Replacement in Hampshire

Replace an old fuse box with a modern consumer unit that protects your family, your home and your appliances.

Fuse board upgrades

Your consumer unit is the first line of defence against electrical faults

The consumer unit, often called the fuse board or fuse box, controls and protects every circuit in your home. Older units with rewireable fuses or no RCD protection do not give the level of protection people expect today.

We replace consumer units across Hampshire with modern, non-combustible units fitted with RCD or RCBO protection and surge protection where required. Before the new unit goes in we test your existing circuits, so we can spot any faults before they cause problems.

When should you replace your consumer unit?

You should consider an upgrade if any of these apply to your home:

  • You still have rewireable fuses with fuse wire
  • There is no RCD protection, or only one RCD for the whole house
  • The unit is plastic and was installed before 2016
  • Circuits trip regularly and the cause cannot be found
  • You are adding an EV charger, extension or new kitchen
  • An EICR has recommended an upgrade
